New Students
- Visit our new course registration page.
- Choose your courses and add them to your shopping cart.
- Click "Check out as Guest" from the shopping cart.
- Complete your student profile and pay.
Current Students
- You will need to have your City Colleges of Chicago username and password ready.

Notary
- The notary class has been approved by the Illinois Secretary of State to meet the education requirements for Illinois Notaries.
- The class is for both first-time applicants and renewals.
- This class is online using Zoom.
- The class covers in-person and online notarization.
- The cost covers the class and the test. Other fees such as a notary stamp, bond, and insurance are not included in the cost of the class (see below).
- You must have a camera on your computer so that we can verify your identity for the test.
Illinois Secretary of State Application Fees: Not Part of the Course Fee
- Traditional Notary = $15.00
- Adding Electronic Commission = $25.00
- Traditional & Electronic Commission = $40.00
Other Notary Costs: Not Part of the Course Fee
- Traditional notaries should expect to spend about $30.00 on a surety bond.
- Electronic notaries should expect to spend between $75-100 total on their bonds.
- At minimum, notaries must have a stamp and a journal. They should expect to spend between $30-80 on these supplies.
- Errors & Omissions Insurance is optional but highly encouraged.
- This is an estimate of expenses only and is not a guaranteed cost.
Forklift
- Students must be 18 years old.
- Students do not need a driver’s license.
- The class is taught in English, but we do have Spanish-language books.
- The class meets on two days in a row on Friday and Saturday.
- Fridays the class meets from 1pm to 7pm for in-classroom work.
- Saturdays the meets for 2 hours between 9am and 3pm to be assigned to you by the instructor for forklift driving.
- If you successfully complete the class, you will earn a 3-year OSHA compliant National Safety Council certificate.
CDL-B Permit Training
This class is taught by Alltown Bus Service and can lead to employment with them after successfully completing the class.
To earn a CDL-B (CLP) permit, not only will you need to pass the written test, but all of the following statements must also be true.
- You must be 21 years old or older to drive interstate or with passengers.
- You must have the ability to provide proof of legal right to work in US.
- You must have had an Illinois driver’s license for at least 3 consecutive years with no breaks.
- You must have a clean background and driving record: no DUIs, drug charges, or violent charges (gun, assault, battery, and any crimes relating to a child).
To sit for the permit exam, you must bring these documents to bring to the Secretary of State. Please begin to gather these documents.
- Current driver’s license that is not temporary and will not expire for 1 year or more.
- Please go to the Illinois Secretary of State website for the current information on the required proof of legal right to work in the US.
