 G.U.I.D.E. Mentoring Program

The purpose of the G.U.I.D.E. program is to provide culturally and geographically relevant mentorship and civic engagement opportunities to formally enrolled students, particularly those on developmental-to-credit tracks and those self-identified as General Studies/”undecided” majors.            

G.U.I.D.E. students have the opportunity to build professional development, leadership and life skills.  In addition, program benefits include…                     

  • Eligibility for the G.U.I.D.E. Scholarship sponsored by the United Center
  • Teambuilding and community service activities that look great on a resume
  • Career advice and networking from faculty and professionals in relevant fields
  • Finding a place to belong in the MXC family

How to Apply   


To become a mentee, you must fill out an application and come to orientation.  Click on the “Application” link to the right.  You can download the pdf file and email it to Dr. Rudds at OR print your application and drop it off in the library.  




Mentees must participate for at least two semesters to be eligible to apply for scholarships.

Meeting Information
Mentor pairs choose their own meeting schedule in addition to attending program activities.  To find out more about upcoming activities, contact one of the coordinators below.
