Harold Washington College in conjunction with their Lead Partner, Aon, a global risk management organization, is happy to announce the Aon’s Apprenticeship
Program. The Apprenticeship Program offers a direct benefit to our students by
providing two-years of work experience and a debt-free college experience. 
 

Students
will attend classes from Monday thru Thursday morning each week. Also, they will attend classes on Thursday afternoon and evening; as well as, on Fridays each week each semester. They will follow a full-time 12-hour schedule year round. 
 

Participants who complete the program earn national insurance credentials, and an AAS Degree in Management
with a concentration in Commercial Insurance. 
 

The program has three tracks upon
which to enter:
 

  • Financial Services
  • Information Technology
  • Human Resources​          

Students selected for this program will be exposed to career
opportunities found within the Commercial Insurance Industry. 


Modeled after
similar long-running apprentice programs found in Europe, the Aon
Apprenticeship Program will provide students seeking a two-year business
administration degree valuable real-world work experience as a professional
within the financial services arena, while simultaneously attending courses at
Harold Washington College. 
 

Completion of this unique work/study program will
enable students to develop core business competencies, as well as hone vitally
important soft-skills required by all employers within the corporate arena.​

      Job Opportunities                    
Students participating in this program will be eligible to participate in a rotational program where they will gain valuable experience in the careers areas of human resources, insurance compliance, commercial client services, data analytics, or information systems support.

Step 3 – Take Harold Washington College placement test (reading/Writing/Math) and meet      
Program eligibility                  

All candidates must complete                    
Step 4 – Interview with partner companies                    
Step 5 – Select program participants 
Harold Washington College partners with financial services companies throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. These companies serve the banking, accounting, human resources, marketing, and insurance industries. This program builds on this important relationship with AON, one of our Lead Partners.
