Students Accomplishments- Students Luke Straube, Kaming Leung, and Juan Guerrero have been selected as the Jack Kent Cook Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship semifinalists. This year’s semifinalists were chosen from a pool of over 1,500 applicants attending 398 community colleges in 44 states and the District of Columbia. Please press release here.

- 2021 HWC Local 1600 Union Scholarships Awardees:
Every year scholarship funds are raised for the purpose of awarding scholarships to the hard-working students attending Harold Washington College.
- The Thomas J. McBride Scholarship was established in honor of Thomas McBride former HWC student who loved attending HWC.
- The Albert Soglin Scholarship was established in memory of Albert Soglin, HWC longstanding unionist and Math Professor and Thomas McBride former HWC student who loved attending our college.
- The Edward S. Orzac Scholarship was established in memory of Edward S Orzac MD and MA Asian Studies who taught medicine and Asian History as an Adjunct Professor at local Colleges as well as in India, Afghanistan, and Indonesia.
- Local 1600 CCCTU HW Chapter Scholarships provides several $500 scholarships to Harold Washington college students.
