The City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) offers a wide variety of academic programs and classes, which are grouped into three broad categories:   

• College credit classes — classes for students pursuing an Associate Degree or workforce preparation certificate
• Adult education classes
• General Educational Development (GED) exam: for adults seeking a high school equivalency
• English as a Second Language (ESL): for adults seeking to learn the English language
• Adult Basic Education (ABE): for adults who wish to improve their basic reading, writing, and math skills
• U.S. citizenship: for adults working toward U.S. citizenship
• Professional & Personal Development (continuing education) classes — non-credit classes for students seeking personal enrichment or new skills
