The English, Communication, Theater, and Journalism (ECTJ) Department offers courses in composition, creative writing, developmental English, ESL, journalism, linguistics, literature, speech, and theater.
The ECTJ Department offers enriching learning opportunities in a range of courses designed to strengthen students’ writing, reading, speaking, and critical thinking skills for specific purposes to a variety of audiences and through various media. Our course offerings include the following disciplines:
In addition to these course offerings, the department supports a writing and reading center, sponsors student-run journalism, produces a student-run literary magazine, sponsors dramatic student productions, runs community literacy events, and offers learning communities. Our faculty also serve in a variety of leadership positions across the college in district. Select department projects and commitments:
