The Learning Agenda
The Learning Agenda at City Colleges of Chicago conducts meaningful research that benefits our students - a dynamic portfolio of projects supported by internal and external partners to ensure research that has a real impact for students.
Through the Learning Agenda, CCC will turn its academic mindset inward, taking an analytic and rigorous
approach to learning more about helping our students succeed. This district-wide effort will allow CCC to
better serve our students through:
- Prioritizing responsiveness to research needs,
- Investing in research capabilities internally,
- Partnering with key stakeholders, and
- Doing relevant and meaningful action research.
These efforts, CCC will become a Learning Organization, that is, an institution that effectively responds
to research needs, executes research, and acts on that research to improve student outcomes.
to research needs, executes research, and acts on that research to improve student outcomes.
To achieve these goals, CCC has:
- Assembled a cross-functional Learning Agenda Team, tasked with providing feedback on
research priorities and connecting researchers with relevant internal stakeholders, - Developed initial research priorities, based on feedback internally and key questions in the field
of community college research, - Developed partnerships with key external stakeholders whose missions and values align with
ours and who can help us achieve our goals, - Built internal capacity – including expertise in data sharing best practices, research project
development and planning, and district-wide stakeholder engagement, - Launched initial research projects in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
