OUR PATH FORWARD

Foundation Giving Tuesday Givebutter Webfliper 660x300 2021_CC.png

Students are at the heart of everything we do at City Colleges of Chicago and the City Colleges of Chicago Foundation. Directly reducing gaps in access, persistence and completion by matching more students with financial resources is a priority objective within the City Colleges of Chicago 2021-2005 Strategic Framework. Below, please find various ways in which you might consider making a gift.

COLLEGE-SPECIFIC SCHOLARSHIPS

PURPOSE-DRIVEN SCHOLARSHIPS
  • UNRESTRICTED SCHOLARSHIP FUND
    • Unrestricted, need-based scholarships are the highest priority funding need. They provide flexibility to use your generosity to support City Colleges of Chicago students' most pressing financial challenges. Gifts of any size may be made to the fund, and by joining others you are able to make a significant difference right away for derserving and outstanding students who want to attend City Colleges of Chicago. Last year $1.2 million in scholarships were awarded, but it barely begins to address the need. During that timeframe, the foundation received more than 7,000 scholarship applications. Only 1,000 were awarded.
  • TIMUEL D. BLACK JR. SCHOLARS
    • The Timuel D. Black Scholarship celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Timuel D. Black Jr. Donations to the newly created scholarship will support students for whom he sought to ensure had equal resources and opportunity. The need-based scholarship will provide adult students who identify as Black or African-American up to $5,000 annually for tuition, books and fees. Scholars will have the opportunity to engage in leadership development experiences to enhance their ability to positively impact Chicago communities. Scholars may also submit project requests to fund civic projects geared at solving, impacting, and highlighting issues central to Dr. Black's life's work. The first round of scholarships will be disbursed during the 2002-2023 academic year.
