Welcome to Transfer & Articulation

Transfer Services Are All Online

We know that the spread of COVID-19 has created anxiety and stress for students. We understand and want you to know you are not alone. The transfer services team at City Colleges of Chicago is here to support you during this challenging time. We will continue to provide you with the following:

Advising support: Schedule an appointment with your Transfer Director by emailing them directly with your questions. You can get their contact information here.

Access to Workshops on the Transfer Process: Not sure what steps to take and the resources available to assist you as you transition? That's okay! We have modules right here on Brightspace for you to go through at your own pace. If you have additional questions, schedule time with your Transfer Director for support.

University PartnersCollege and university representatives are here to support you as you continue to transition to a 4-year. Click HERE to access the contact information for the college representatives at our university partners. You can reach out to them by email and they have committed to responding to your questions about transferring to their institution. Please be patient as their volume of email communications has increased a lot since college closures have occurred. They WILL respond to you. You can also learn about the partnerships by going to our partnership page on the web.

We will continue to work with you so that when we all come out on the other side of this experience, you will be prepared to continue on your path towards achievement and success.

We are all in this together!

Transfer Associate Degrees - AA, AS, AES, AFA
Institutions in Illinois grant two primary transferable Associates degrees because the Illinois Articulation Initiative general education package is part of both (The Associate in Arts/AA and the Associate in Science/AS degree). The AA, has a full general education package (GECC) fully incorporated. When you complete an AA degree and transfer, your general education requirements should be waived at the next 4-year IAI participating institution you choose to attend. The AS degree is specifically designed for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, or STEM, areas of study. This degree has a modified general education package which allows students in these demanding fields the opportunity to remain on track with their cohorts at the 4-year institutions and complete their general education courses after they transfer to their institution of choice. Under the AS model, students will take one additional math and science course each. The GECC package remains intact; however, a student will complete the package upon transfer to a university.
Students seeking the Associates in Engineering Science (AES) and Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) options should consult with with their College Advisor).

Always select your degree program and courses in consultation with your college advisor!
