Truman Men's Basketball Player Earns Region IV Award

Freshman Ronald Cooper of the Harry S Truman College men's basketball team was chosen as the Region IV Division I Player of the Week on December 22, 2014. 

Cooper earned the award after averaging 13.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.0 steal in three games. He also shot 65.4 percent (17 of 26) from the field in three outings. 

Cooper published his seventh double-double of the season in a 94-77 loss to Ancilla College (Ind.) on December 15 when he tallied 17 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. He also had three blocks and three steals in the contest. The 6-foot, 5-inch forward then contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the Falcons' 97-53 setback at Elgin Community College on December 17.

Cooper's totals in a 99-74 defeat to Elmhurst College JV on December 19 included 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks. 

One of the top post players in the country, Cooper is sixth nationally in NJCAA Division I in blocks (46) and 15th in rebounding (11.0 per game). 

A graduate of Dunbar High School, Cooper is pursuing an associate degree at Harry S Truman College.​
