This program aims to increase the number of socially and economically disadvantaged individuals working on IDOT highway construction projects. Career services are provided, however, employment is not guaranteed.
In addition to getting a foot in the door in the construction industry, developing contacts, and mastering building techniques, qualified students will also enjoy program benefits, including boots, tools, and supportive services.
Students should expect to spend eight hours a day, five days a week learning construction techniques, and must commit to participating in all 16 weeks of the HCCTP training program.
