Courses taken during the third and fourth years of the baccalaureate program provide the additional preparation necessary for graduate studies and/or work in industry. Multiple tracks are often available. Many four-year institutions, for example, offer a specialty in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, or certification for high school teaching. Students should complete the Associate in Science (A.S.) degree prior to transfer and should be aware that additional credit hours may be requirements depending on the transfer institution. These course recommendations are intended for students who are undecided about a transfer institution. Students who have selected a transfer institution should first consult the catalog of that university and an academic advisor for requirements appropriate to the first two years of study. College catalogs and transfer guides for many four-year colleges are available in the Student Services Center.
