Chicago, IL
–City
Colleges of Chicago and the Chicago Bar Association kicked off a series of
panels to educate students on opportunities in the legal field and the pathway
from college to career this week. More than 70 Harold Washington College
students attended the first panel, “Winning at Your Career: Law & Life,” on
Monday, March 5, which provided information on building a career in law,
business and related professions. The series is part of City Colleges’ effort to
prepare its students for success after college by connecting them with leading
Chicago employees.

This
event provided students with an opportunity to interact with professionals and
receive a real-life perspective on different career pathways. Laura Washington,
Chicago Sun-Times columnist,
moderated the panel which included Cheryl L. Hyman, City Colleges of Chicago
Chancellor, Bob Clifford, principal partner of Clifford Law Offices and
president of the Chicago Bar Association, and Timothy C. Evans, chief justice of
the Circuit Court of Cook County. Students asked the panelists questions during
a Q and A session and networked with them after the program.
