Register Today for City Colleges' Summer and Fall Semesters

5/2/2012 12:00 AM

(Chicago) – Registration is now open for Summer and Fall 2012 Terms at all seven of the City Colleges of Chicago.

“City Colleges is the higher education institution of choice for those who seek a quality, affordable education that will set them up for success in the global economy,” said Chancellor Cheryl Hyman.

A simple $60 tuition down payment locks in student class schedules for Summer and Fall if students register no later than June 5th. Affordable payment plans allow both new and existing students more time to pay for courses. Summer term students have the option of paying for classes over the months of July and August. Throughout the registration process, financial aid officers are available to help work out payment plans and identify grants and other payment options.

College students returning to the Chicago area for summer break can take prerequisites and general education classes at City Colleges for a fraction of the cost of similar courses at four-year institutions. Courses labeled “IAI” in the City Colleges course catalog have been pre-approved as fully transferable to any four-year college in Illinois through the Illinois Articulation Initiative. Students who complete the first two years of college at one of the seven City Colleges can save students up to $40,000 versus comparable coursework elsewhere.

City Colleges of Chicago offers  programs to meet the needs of every student, including associate of arts (A.A.) and associate of science (A.S.) degrees that transfer to four-year colleges and universities and associate of applied science degrees (A.A.S.) and certificates that prepare students to immediately enter the workforce in high-demand careers. A.A.S. degree programs range from architectural drafting to culinary arts and from media communications to nursing. Certificate programs include business administration, environmental technology, human resource management, web design and development and more.

In addition, City Colleges offers free GED (high school equivalency) courses and free English as a Second Language courses.  Classes are available seven days a week, evenings and weekends at a convenient Chicago location or anytime online.
