Illinois has once again run out of cash earlier than usual for the Monetary Award Program, also known as MAP grants.
City Colleges encouraged students to complete the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by early March so that eligible students
receive available MAP grants.
Students who didn't apply in time will not receive MAP grant funding
for next year, but officials with the City Colleges' financial aid
office still recommend that students complete the FAFSA as they will
still be eligible for other forms of financial aid. Financial aid
officials will help City Colleges students maximize the financial
assistance they receive. Full story at ABC 7 Chicago
