Each academic degree has a unique set of requirements.  This portion of the academic policy manual describes the requirements for each degree as well as course approval, and other related policies and procedures.

• Associate in Arts Degree Program (1.10A)  62 credit hours are required in general education, electives, and world languages.
  
• Associate in Science Degree Program (1.11A) . 64 credit hours are required in general education, concentration, and electives.

• Associate in Applied Science Degree Program (1.12A)  64-72 credit hours are required in general education, concentration, and electives. 

• Associate in General Studies Degree Program (1.13A) 60 credit hours are required in general education and electives. 

• Associate in Engineering Science Degree Program (1.14A) 64 credit hours are required in general education, concentration, and electives.

• Associate in Fine Arts Degree Program (1.15A)  60-68credit hours are required in general education, concentration, and electives. 

• Associate of Arts in Teaching Degree Program (1.16A) 61-63  credit hours are required in general education and concentration.  

• CCC Application of Rationale for Awarding Student Semester Hour Credit (1.21A).  
  

• Health and Fitness Science (1.22A) All Health and Fitness Science courses are electives (unless required).

• Cooperative Sub-Contractual Arrangements with Outside Agencies (1.24A) All cooperative or sub-contractual arrangements with outside agencies must maintain the principle of open enrollment.
  

• Sunset Policy and Procedures​ (1.25) The purpose of the CCC "Sunset Policy'' is to ensure a fair and consistent process for sun setting programs across the District and a smooth transition for students enrolled in a program that is identified for discontinuation by a CCC college(s) or its funding agency, the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB).​

• General Education Guidelines for Illinois Articulation Initiative (1.3) Students who complete the IAI General Education Core Curriculum (GECC) and transfer to participating institutions have the assurance that lower-division general education requirements for an associate or baccalaureate degree have been satisfied​.
  

• Human Diversity Requirement​ (1.4) ​Effective Fall 2012, newly enrolled students, or returning students who have not been enrolled for six consecutive semesters, seeking any degree at the City Colleges of Chicago are required to take at least one course to fulfill the State of Illinois’ Human Diversity requirement for an Associate degree.
