Employment Application FAQ's

We currently use an online application tracking system. Please follow all directions in the posting. All of our open job postings are online in the system. Thanks for your interest in City Colleges and your continued support in making academic success a reality for CCC students!

How can I find out what jobs are open at City Colleges of Chicago?

The Talent Management team at CCC encourages you to visit our Open Jobs page. You can view any of our open positions at all seven colleges, six satellite locations and the District Office by visiting the CCC Employment Page .

How do I submit an application for an Open Position?
City Colleges only accepts resumes and applications that have been submitted through our electronic application system. This ensures that our hiring managers get the opportunity to review each candidate in a timely manner and allows you the opportunity to increase your job search efforts by applying to multiple openings without having to submit a new application.

To apply, please visit our website at www.ccc.edu and choose "Employment at City Colleges" from the bottom of the home page. Choose "Search Posted Positions" and review any openings that pique your interest. Once you have selected a position, simply click "Apply Online" and login or set yourself up as a new user. All applications will need an active email address in order to complete a profile. Once you have your individual profile established, you can apply for the position, search for other available opportunities and submit an application.  You will be allowed to upload documents such as resumes, cover letters, transcripts, certifications and licenses.

Why can't I apply/submit my resume via mail, fax or email?
CCC no longer accepts paper resumes or other documents. The online application process helps us to track applications more efficiently and makes your information available for review without delay. City Colleges of Chicago strives to become a greener organization through this process.

How do I get my application noticed?

Keep it simple, easy to read and answer all the questions accurately! Fully research and understand the role before you apply so that you can make your resume and application as accurate and representative of your skills and abilities as possible. Make sure that you are only applying for positions that your skills and experience meet the qualifications.

What if I have forgotten my user name or password to my online profile?

On the login page, click "Forgot your user name?" or "Forgot your password?"  Follow instructions to retrieve your user name or to receive a new temporary password.

What happens after I complete my application?

When you submit your resume online, you will receive a prompt acknowledgement of receipt directly to your email address. The hiring manager or HR representative assigned to the position will reach out to candidates who best meet the qualifications for the position. Due to the volume of applicants, you will only be contacted if you are selected for an interview.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can view your application submissions, job cart & saved searches by logging in to the employment portal and going to the "My Job Page" tab. Each completed submission will have a job status included in its summary which will provide you information regarding the position you applied to.

How long is the application process?

For all applicants, the selection process varies for each opening due to the high volume of applicants.  A recruiter and/or hiring manager will begin screening applicants as they are submitted.  It could take one to several weeks after you submit your application before someone may reach out to you if you are selected for an interview.

How will I be notified regarding the status of a position that I applied for?

For all applicants, we do not provide status updates unless you are selected for an interview. All applicants will receive an automated confirmation email message immediately after submission of your documents. Selected candidates will receive further instructions. Due to the volume of responses, Human Resource recruiters cannot respond to application follow-up inquiries by phone.

How will I know when City Colleges has open positions?

New jobs are posted to the Employment page and recently filled jobs are removed from the Employment page on a daily basis. If a position is posted on our website, it has not yet been filled and we are still accepting applications.

I don't live in the City of Chicago - Can I still work at City Colleges?

All full-time employees must be a resident of the City of Chicago.  A non-resident may be hired or promoted to a full-time position provided that such person agrees, as a condition of employment/promotion, to establish actual residency within six (6) months after hire/promotion.  Part-time and temporary support staff are not subject to the residency requirement.
