City College of Chicago purchasing procedures are consistent with Sections 107-23.1 and 103-27.1 of the Illinois Public Community College Act, and represent the basic intentions and goals of the Board of the City Colleges of Chicago.

What does CCC Buy?
The City Colleges of Chicago purchases nearly all the goods and services offered on the market including, but not limited to: books, printing services, computer equipment, furniture, office equipment and supplies, and a variety of minor construction and professional services.
Where does CCC purchasing take place?
Formal requests for goods and services greater than $10,000.00 are technical specifications (Request for Sealed Bids/Proposals) that must be publicly advertised to receive maximum competitive pricing. Request for Sealed Bids/Proposals are competitively bid through the Department of Procurement Services, located at District Office, 226 W. Jackson Boulevard in Chicago. Informal requests for goods and services $10,000.00 or less are initiated by the Business Offices located at each of the seven colleges or from District Office Departments. Vendors are encouraged to contact the Business Offices Managers and inform them of the types of products/services they can provide to the campuses.
Vendor Registration
The City Colleges of Chicago administers an aggressive program seeking minority and women owned businesses (MBE/WBE). The Department of Procurement Services maintains a bidder's list that identifies vendors by classifications. Vendor Registration Instructions
