Loop Players, the acclaimed 25-year-old theatre company at Harold Washington College, will perform the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Fences” by August Wilson. “Fences” tells the story of Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man. The cast and crew is a mix of Harold Washington College students, community members, and professionals.
Jaegen Ellison, Harold Washington College theatre arts student, plays the role of Cory Maxson who is the adolescent son of the Troy and is trying to create his own identity. Ellison has previously performed in productions such as, “To Kill a Mockingbird” and “Our Town.” Ellison is cast alongside Harold Washington College student Alberta Deniecee Gordon, who plays Rose Maxson, and Joseph Staples, who stars as Troy Maxson.
