Loop Players, the acclaimed 25-year-old theatre company at Harold Washington College, will perform Electra by Sophocles, a new adaption by Frank McGuiness this fall. The performance is a classic Greek drama with a modern twist and includes the timeless theme of revenge. The cast and crew is a mix of Harold Washington College students, amateurs and professionals.
Kathryn Nash, assistant professor in the English, Speech and Theatre Department, will direct Electra. Nash was recently appointed director of Loop Players and has enhanced student participation in casting and backstage crew. An added mission of Loop Players is to provide more "on-the-job" training which serves as a bridge to students transferring to four-year colleges or to professions in theatre in the Chicago area.
