Loop Players, the acclaimed 25-year-old theatre company at Harold Washington College, will perform the contemporary play “After.” by Chad Beckim. “After.” follows Monty on a journey from imprisonment toward freedom. Released after 17 years of incarceration for a crime he didn’t commit, Monty struggles with anger and fear as he re-enters an unfamiliar world of doggy daycare, cellphones, and unexpected challenges. The cast and crew is a mix of Harold Washington College students, community members, and professionals.

The cast includes veteran actor Jacquelyn Haas, a Harold Washington College student studying theatre. “After.” is Haas’ ninth production with Loop Players. Harold Washington College students Vijay Arora, Anastacia Narrajos and Robert Moss are making their Loop Players debut. In 2010 Arora participated in the High School Performance Festival at the Court Theatre, where he won an award for Distinguished Acting in “A Comedy of Errors.” The cast is rounded out by two professional actors, Jay Españo and Mike Pusateri.

Rachel Sledd Iannantuoni, an instructor in the English, Speech and Theatre Department, directs “After.” An added mission of Loop Players is to provide "on-the-job" training, which serves as a bridge for students transferring to four-year colleges or to theatre careers in the Chicago area.
