SPRING 2017 CHANGES IN LIBRARY HOURS
Beginning in January 2017, the Truman library will be opening at 8:30 a.m. instead of 7:30 a.m. The library regrets this change as it is known that many students rely on the library's computers to prepare for their early morning classes. However, it has been made necessary by a decline in library staff due to the College's budget limitations that, in turn, result from the State of Illinois' budget situation.

The library's new hours will be:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Closed Sunday

TRUMAN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER RECEIVES REGION IV ACCOLADE
Freshman guard Tobias McGhee Jr. of the Harry S Truman college men's basketball team was chosen as the Region IV Division I Player of the Week on December 5.

In his lone appearance during the week, McGhee scored a team-best 20 points, recorded a game-high four steals and dished off four assists in the Falcons' 100-96 overtime victory over College of Lake County on December 3.

McGhee's efforts enable Truman to overcome a 23-point second-half deficit and earn the win.

A graduate of Prosser Career Academy, McGhee is pursuing an Associate in General Studies degree at Truman.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES SAYS "THANK YOU!"
From Student Activities: "On behalf of Student Activities, we would like to thank you again for submitting food or a basket to this year’s Thanksgiving Basket Drawing!  We collected close to #700 pounds of foods and distributed baskets to 19 families this year! The baskets went to some really deserving families and the feedback from the recipients was extreme gratitude!

"The basket submitted by the Registrar’s Office received the most drawing submissions so they will win the Pizza Party! Thank you all for your baskets! A few special baskets submitted by Child Care and the Veterans Center went to specific students outside the drawing who were experiencing extremely tough times during the holiday season. These along with all the baskets were received with tears of joy and gratitude, truly special moments.  An additional thanks goes out to the Truman’s Veteran Student Association for supplying enough food for us to compose two additional baskets for our students. Other departments that helped make a special holiday for a family of our Truman Community: Math Center, Adult Education, Security, Business Office, Reprographics,  Disability Access Center, Athletics, Transfer Center, TRiO, WIA, Financial Aid, Career Planning and Placement, the Testing Center and Student Activities. On behalf of the winning students and their families, I THANK YOU again for your participation and spirit of giving and thank you for making this community a warmful one during the holidays!

"If you missed out on the Thanksgiving baskets or still want to help out our community please consider donating to our Giving Tree or Winter Garments Drive."
