
WCI Fountain Café student workers: Ives Thambs, Jullanar Muhammad, Sandra Wallace, Felicia McReynolds
The Fountain Café, located in Grant Park just north of Buckingham Fountain and operated by students from the Washburne Culinary Institute, a part of the City Colleges of Chicago, features a summer fare seasonal menu of custom designed sandwiches that celebrate Chicago’s culturally diverse neighborhoods and food traditions.
Sandwich selections include: The Pilsen: Torta bread with shredded chicken; The Bronzeville: BBQ chicken with Carolina slaw; The Little Italy: featuring Italian cuts of meat; The Greektown: Deli fresh cut turkey with veggies and feta cheese; The Gold Coast: mounds of roasted vegetables; The Stock Yard: Roast Beef with caramelized onions; and, The Traditional Chicago Hot Dog with Vienna beef.
The Fountain Café is open Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. through the Chicago Marathon in mid- October, weather permitting.
