CCC is proud to offer options for students who are ready to start their college education while they are still enrolled in high school. There are three main ways for students to earn early college credit.
High school students may be able to take college classes at their own school. In these classes, students will receive college and high school credit at the same time. In order to participate, students must meet the pre-requisites for the course.
High school students may enroll in college courses at any one of the CCC campuses. Each term (spring, summer, fall) 100 seats are set aside for high school students. In order to participate students must meet the pre-requisites for the course.
Another name for this is 'credit for prior learning'. In this method, students may receive college credit for coursework they completed in high school. CCC is in the process of creating and reviewing articulation agreements with its partners which describe the way credit is awarded in various areas. This mostly applies to Career and Technical Education.
