Articulation and Transfer Agreements

Compact Agreement of the Illinois Board of Higher Education The following universities will grant junior standing for transfer students in good standing:

Note: Students are not guaranteed admission to every major or program. A university may require additional courses or specific admission requirements for specialized majors or programs.   
 

University of Illinois at Chicago
The Guaranteed Admissions Transfer Program (GAT) guarantees admission into a participating UIC baccalaureate program upon transfer from CCC. For more information, contact a City Colleges of Chicago Transfer Center. Learn how to apply for the GAT program.​

Requirements:    

  • maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • enroll full-time at the City Colleges of Chicago
  • complete an AA or AS degree from CCC prior to transferring to UIC

Illinois Institute of Technology 
Presidential Scholarship and Educational Initiative for Community College Students
Students who are nominated by their College President and admitted to IIT are considered by IIT's scholarship committee for the Presidential Scholarship. Recipients receive:

  • $23,500 annual tuition scholarship award, renewable for up to three years at IIT
  • $5,000 annual housing scholarship award to support on-campus residence at the university
  • Up to $5,000 stipend for undergraduate research through IIT's Undergraduate Research Scholars Program

A nominated student who does not receive a Presidential Scholarship will automatically be considered for:   

  • Transfer Scholarship (up to $12,000 annually)
  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship ($5,000 annually)
  • 1,500 Housing Scholarship, if living on campus.

    Lewis University
    Students can pursue a bachelor's degree in one of two high growth careers:
    • Air Traffic Control Management
    • Aviation Administration
    All courses required for the degree programs will be offered at De LaSalle Institute, 3434 S. Michigan Avenue.  

    The goal of this program is to increase the number of City Colleges of Chicago students who transfer to DePaul and complete a baccalaureate degree.  
    Students access to DePaul activities and services while still attending the City Colleges of Chicago  

    Eligibility Requirements:  
    • Students who have earned fewer than 30 credit hours at the City Colleges of Chicago
    • 2.0 cumulative GPA   
    DePaul University (Bridge Program)  
    The Bridge program is designed for adults age 24 and older who, because of demands on their time and financial resources, find it difficult to pursue a traditional path to a degree.

    Chicago State University (Dual Enrollment and Guaranteed Admissions Agreement) 
    City Colleg of Chicago students with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and a C or better in all general education core requirements are guaranteed admission to Chicago State. 

    • a sequence of integrated, linked, math and science courses for students preparing to be math and/or science teachers in elementary schools, particularly in grades 6 through 9. 
    • offered at Truman College and Wright College​
    • By taking these classes as part of their preparation for Elementary Teacher Certification, students will receive in addition to a Bachelor's Degree: 
      • Field experiences in schools
      • endorsements in math, science, and middle school teaching.

      Dominican University - Guaranteed Admission and Junior Standing
      Dominican University will accept the A.A., A.F.A. or the A.S. degree for up to 68 semester hours of credit for students with a minimum GPA of 2.5.​
       
      Howard University: Articulation/Dual Admissions Agreement
      Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 who desire to complete a baccalaureate degree at Howard and who formally request dual admissions may be simultaneously admitted to both CCC and Howard, upon approval of both schools.

      Governors State University: Dual Degree Program Agreement  
      Dual admissions are available to CCC students planning to complete their baccalaureate degree at Governors State University. A student will have junior standing at GSU upon completion of the A.A. or A.S degree.   

      St. Augustine College: Social Work Degree Articulation 
      Students who complete the prescribed course work at the City Colleges of Chicago may complete a bachelor of Social Work degree at St. Augustine.
