The U-PASS offers full-time students unlimited rides on any CTA bus or CTA trains during an academic term. Use your U-Pass on CTA bus/rail system anytime, anywhere, for any reason.

- Not valid for travel on PACE suburban buses
- Not valid for travel on Metra commuter trains
Rules and Conditions
U-Pass is limited to exclusive use by the original full-time student card owner (12+ credits during the Spring/Fall terms, 6+ credits during the Summer term). U-Pass may not be shared. If any conditions are violated, the pass will be confiscated for the remaining term without reimbursement. The cards of students who drop to part-time status will be deactivated.
Lost/Stolen Cards
If your pass is lost or stolen, bring your valid school ID and a $50 non-refundable replacement fee (cash, credit card or money order only) to the CTA's Customer Service Center at 567 W. Lake Street, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., to request a replacement U-Pass.
- Replacement U-Passes will be distributed by the college at which you are enrolled.
- CTA will replace lost or stolen U-Pass cards only ONCE per academic term.
Damaged or Captured Passes
To replace the pass, visit the CTA Customer Service Center, 567 W. Lake Street, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with a copy of the bus or rail form (obtained from the bus operator or customer assistant) and your ID. If your U-Pass is put into the bus cash slot, it is treated as a lost/stolen U-Pass, and you will need to pay the $50.00 replacement fee.
