The Chicago Partnerships for College and Career Success (CPCCS)

Effective July 1, 2008, the Chicago Partnership for College and Career Success replaced the former Federal Tech Prep Program designed to assist in the transition of high school students to college. Similar to the former Tech Prep program, the new Chicago Partnership for College and Career Success declares the “each and every student will have access to rigorous and relevant education and opportunities that prepare them for success in college and careers,” while placing a more significant emphasis on Collaboration amongst stakeholders and the development of Programs of Study.

How can you benefit from the Chicago Partnership for College and Career Success?

Students:

Receive information and guidance on which high school and college courses you should take to prepare you for the career of your choice. Avoid boredom and frustration by earning college credit for classes you take while you are still enrolled in high school. That way, you won’t have to pay to take classes to learn stuff you already learned in high school.

Credits earned in career program courses credits may be transferred to a four-year college or university. Earn skills and credentials that will make you more marketable for a great job.

Parents:

You will save time and money by taking advantage of resources that will help your child take the high school and college courses that will lead directly to career opportunities of their choice.

Take the frustration out of wondering if your child will be equipped to find a job after high school or college.

Save even more money when your child participates in FREE Dual Credit/ Dual Enrollment and Articulated courses that allow your student to earn college credit while still in high school.

Access to resources and data that will bust the myths about Community College and Career and Technical Education Programs being only for “those kids, not my child.”

High School Counselors and Administrators / Youth Service Agencies:

Get access to straightforward materials that will help you advise your students about exactly what classes to take to reach the Career Goals.

Access to career exploration activities and resources to assist students in making informed decisions about a chosen pathway.

Businesses:

Access information about potential partnerships and opportunities to “design” your work force by making various contributions to the training and preparation.
