It’s never too early to begin planning your transfer to a four year institution. The degrees listed below are designed to help you transfer smoothly to a four-year college or university. The City Colleges also offers a General Studies Degree and an Associate in Applied Science Degree.
Incoming students may choose from liberal arts for an Associate of Arts. The AA program prepare students to transfer with junior standing to a four-year college or university. This degree has a Foreign Language Requirement.
The Associate of Science is designed to prepare students for transfer leading to a baccalaureate degree from four-year colleges and universities.
Associate in Fine Arts Degree (AFA)
The Associate in Fine Arts degree prepares students to transfer with junior standing to a four-year college or university.
The Associate in Fine Arts Degree majors are:
- Music Education
- Music Performance
- Art
- Art Education (pending approval)
Students must complete general education core courses, required music or art courses, and Illinois Teachers' certification courses if applicable. Students must meet program admission standards to be accepted.
Associate in Engineering Science Degree (AES)
The Associate in Engineering Science degree prepares students to transfer with junior standing to an engineering program at a four-year college or university.
Students complete general education core courses, which include Mathematics, Physical and Life Sciences and Computer Science, as well as specialty courses in Engineering Science.
