The Pharmacy Technician basic certificate program provides comprehensive training that prepares students to enter the pharmacy field to work in hospitals, community, and retail pharmacies. Emphasis is placed on definitions of drugs by name and the reading and interpretation of medical prescriptions. Students will also learn I.V. flow rate, dosage calculations, drug compounding and dose conversions, inventory control and much more. Clinical hands-on experience will be included. The program is designed to prepare students national certification examinations.
