Course provides students with an overview of the basic computer concepts and terminology, the internet and the Microsoft Office applications. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.

Various welding theories and processes; including classification and characteristics of welding rods, electrical terms, polarity principles; welding equipment and accessories, are taught. Students develop fundamental skills for performing operations with mild steel plates. Health hazards, safety rules/regulations and OSHA are discussed. An introduction to manufacturing materials, methods, and processes for drafting and design technicians is provided. Basic cold and hot working processes, used to join, form, weld, shape and cut materials to specified sizes, are also taught.
